Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Microbiologist with 3–4 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. The candidate will be responsible for performing microbiological testing, environmental monitoring, microbial limit testing, water analysis, and maintaining compliance with GMP, GLP and applicable regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform routine microbiological testing of raw materials, finished products and in-process samples.
- Conduct Microbial Limit Tests (MLT), microbial enumeration and specified microorganism testing.
- Perform environmental monitoring of cleanrooms, production areas and microbiology laboratories.
- Carry out microbiological analysis of purified water, potable water and Water for Injection (WFI), wherever applicable.
- Perform sterility testing and bacterial endotoxin testing (BET), if applicable to the product range.
- Conduct growth promotion testing of culture media and maintain culture stock records.
- Prepare, standardize and maintain microbiological media, reagents and laboratory cultures.
- Monitor and maintain laboratory hygiene, equipment calibration and cleaning records.
- Handle deviations, Out-of-Specification (OOS), Out-of-Trend (OOT) investigations and CAPA documentation.




- Maintain microbiology SOPs, analytical records, logbooks and other GMP documentation.
- Ensure compliance with cGMP, GLP, pharmacopoeial standards (IP/BP/USP) and applicable regulatory guidelines.
- Participate in internal audits, external audits and regulatory inspections.

Educational Qualification
- M.Sc. in Microbiology / Biotechnology / Life Sciences.
- B.Sc. in Microbiology may also be considered with relevant pharmaceutical industry experience.

Required Experience
- 3–4 years of hands-on experience in pharmaceutical microbiology.
- Practical knowledge of QC microbiology laboratory operations.
- Experience in environmental monitoring, microbial limit testing and water testing.
- Good understanding of GMP, GLP and microbiological laboratory practices.
- Experience in pharmaceutical documentation and regulatory compliance.

Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of microbiological testing techniques.
- Hands-on experience with autoclaves, incubators, laminar airflow cabinets and colony counters.
- Knowledge of microbial identification and culture handling.
- Good documentation and analytical skills.
- Ability to investigate microbiological failures and deviations.
- Positive communication and teamwork skills.
