About the internship

Medinex Workforce works closely with the healthcare sector, and healthcare runs on accurate records. Every consultation, test and procedure is turned into a set of codes, and those codes decide how a claim is processed and how a patient file is read later. This internship teaches you how that translation is done. You will practise on training charts, learn the official coding guidelines, and build a skill that hospitals, billing companies and insurers hire for on a steady basis.

What you will do

- Read discharge summaries, operative notes and physician records
- Assign diagnosis and procedure codes using ICD-10 and CPT guidelines
- Review charts for missing details, unclear entries and documentation gaps
- Check coded records for accuracy before they are used for claims
- Follow coding rules, payer guidelines and compliance standards
- Maintain a daily coding log and work towards accuracy and turnaround targets
- Take part in quality audits and learn from feedback on every coded chart
- Keep all patient information strictly confidential

What we are looking for
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and basic human anatomy
- A life science, pharmacy, nursing or allied health background




- Close attention to detail and a methodical way of working
- Good reading comprehension in English
- Respect for patient privacy and professional ethics
- A laptop and stable internet connection for full-time remote work

Nice to have
- Prior exposure to ICD-10 or CPT (training will be provided)
- A medical coding course or certificate, completed or in progress
- Comfort with Excel or Google Sheets

Who can apply
- Final-year students and recent graduates from life sciences, B.Pharm, D.Pharm, Pharm.D, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BPT, nursing, microbiology, biotechnology and other allied health streams
- Candidates who have completed or are pursuing a medical coding course are welcome
- Freshers are welcome, and prior experience is not required
- You must be available full-time for the internship period
