: Mechanical Engineer (Cement Plant)

Qualification: B.Tech/B.E. in Mechanical Engineering

Experience: 2 years in a cement plant (maintenance preferred)

Role: Keep plant machinery reliable and available through planned and breakdown maintenance. Support safe, low-cost operation of the production lines.

Key responsibilities

- Carry out preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance on kiln, raw mill, coal mill, cement mill, crusher, fans, conveyors, bucket elevators, packing plant and gearboxes.
- Handle shutdown planning and execution, with job cards, spares and manpower ready in advance.
- Monitor equipment condition by checking vibration, temperature, lubrication and alignment. Find root causes of repeated failures and suggest fixes.
- Inspect and follow up on refractory, mill liners, grinding media, kiln tyres and rollers, girth gear and cooler parts.
- Manage lubrication schedules, spare parts inventory and contractor work quality.
- Enforce safety rules:



permit-to-work, lock-out/tag-out, work at height and confined-space norms.
- Keep maintenance records, breakdown reports and equipment history in SAP or the plant system.
- Support energy-saving and cost-reduction projects.

Skills: Knowledge of rotating equipment, bearings, gearboxes, hydraulics and pneumatics. Ability to read mechanical drawings. Basic knowledge of welding, alignment and condition-monitoring tools. MS Excel and SAP PM. Valuable teamwork and communication. KPIs: Equipment availability, breakdown hours, planned-maintenance compliance, spares cost and zero safety incidents.
