Role & responsibilities

- Design and detail bulk material handling equipment, including belt conveyors, feeders, hoppers, chutes, transfer towers and associated mechanical assemblies.

- Support the design of stackers, reclaimers and stockyard handling systems under the guidance of senior engineers.

- Prepare 3D models, assemblies, general arrangement drawings, fabrication drawings and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks, AutoCAD and CADWorx, as applicable.

- Perform basic engineering calculations for conveyor capacity, belt speed, power requirements and mechanical component selection.

- Assist in selecting motors, gearboxes, couplings, bearings, pulleys, idlers and other bought-out components.

- Prepare bills of materials, material take-offs and technical specifications.

- Check drawings for dimensional accuracy, assembly clearances, accessibility, maintainability and fabrication feasibility.

- Coordinate with structural, electrical, procurement, production and project teams to resolve design interfaces.

- Incorporate client comments,



vendor information and site requirements into drawings and maintain revision records.

- Provide engineering support during fabrication, erection and commissioning.

Preferred candidate profile

- Proficiency in SolidWorks part modelling, assembly modelling and drawing preparation.

- Working knowledge of AutoCAD for 2D layouts and detailed engineering drawings.

- Experience with CADWork for plant layouts and equipment interfaces.

- Understanding of bulk material properties and their influence on equipment design.

- Knowledge of machine elements, welded structures, sheet metal fabrication, tolerances and engineering drawing practices.

- Familiarity with relevant IS, ISO and CEMA standards.

- Ability to interpret tender specifications, client requirements and vendor drawings.

- Positive coordination, problem-solving and communication skills.

Experience in bulk material handling, coal handling, iron ore handling, cement, mining, ports or EPC projects will be an advantage.
