Manager – Product Development

Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka

Experience: 12–15 years preferred

Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electronics or Instrumentation Engineering

Job Summary An established Indian manufacturer of engineered industrial products is seeking an experienced Manager – Product Development to lead multiple new product development programmes. The position requires strong ownership of project schedules, costs, resources and commercial product launches across multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Responsibilities

- Manage multiple concurrent new product development projects from concept to commercial launch.
- Develop and monitor project plans, milestones, budgets, resource requirements and delivery schedules.
- Track project progress, risks, dependencies and schedule deviations.
- Coordinate mechanical, electrical, electronics and manufacturing teams across multiple locations.
- Establish consistent programme planning, reporting and review processes.
- Manage engineering changes, product specifications, BOMs and product master data.
- Coordinate with manufacturing, quality, procurement and other functions for product industrialization.
- Identify resource conflicts, recommend priorities and escalate risks proactively.
- Report project status, delivery performance and corrective actions to senior management.

Required Qualifications and Experience

- 12–15 years of overall professional experience; candidates must be within the maximum experience limit of 16 years.
- Minimum 4–5 years of direct product development programme delivery responsibility.




- Experience managing multiple physical product development projects simultaneously.
- Proven track record of launching manufactured products within committed schedules, with the ability to explain actual delivery performance.
- Experience working for a manufacturing company that designs and manufactures its own products.
- Working experience with ERP systems, particularly bills of materials (BOMs) and product masters.
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electronics or Instrumentation Engineering.
- Solid planning, cost control, resource management, leadership and communication skills.

Preferred Experience Candidates from transformer protection and accessories, switchgear, protection relays, electrical meters, industrial instrumentation, mechatronics, industrial electronics, scientific instruments, medical devices or other engineered product manufacturing industries are encouraged to apply.

Important Eligibility Criteria

This role requires hands-on ownership of physical product development and commercial launches. Experience limited to software/IT projects, EPC, turnkey execution, site installation or pure research without commercial product launches will not be suitable.
