Role & Responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end New Product Development (NPD) activities for automotive metal pipes, tubes and assemblies.

- Manage product and process development involving CNC tube bending, welding, tube forming and furnace brazing.

- Review customer drawings, specifications, product feasibility and manufacturing requirements.

- Develop manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures and inspection methods.

- Lead APQP activities, including feasibility studies, Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEA, Control Plans and process validation.

- Coordinate prototype development, customer trials, sample submissions and PPAP approvals.

- Act as the primary technical interface for OEM and Tier-1 customers.

- Manage project timelines, development milestones and cross-functional activities.

- Coordinate with design, production, quality, tooling and purchase teams.

- Ensure successful production handover, process validation and mass production readiness.

- Drive continuous improvement, cost reduction, cycle-time optimization and process capability enhancement.





Preferred Candidate Profile

- B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.

- 8-12 years of experience in automotive components or metal tube and pipe manufacturing.

- Strong hands-on experience in CNC tube bending, metal pipe forming and tube fabrication.

- Practical knowledge of MIG, TIG, Resistance Welding and Furnace Brazing processes.

- Experience in tooling, fixture development and manufacturing process engineering.

- Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, MSA and SPC.

- Valuable understanding of GD&T;, engineering drawings, material specifications and weldability.

- Experience in independently managing NPD projects from RFQ and feasibility to SOP.

- Experience in OEM / Tier-1 customer coordination and technical approvals.

- Knowledge of IATF 16949 and automotive quality systems.

- Strong leadership, project management, communication and problem-solving skills.
