Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated Junior Research Associate with knowledge of molecular biology techniques and bioinformatics. The candidate will be involved in DNA and RNA isolation, gene expression studies, primer designing and analysis of genomic data, including Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS). The role requires an understanding of molecular biology concepts along with the ability to use bioinformatics tools for biological data analysis and interpretation.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform DNA and RNA isolation from biological samples.
- Assist in conducting gene expression studies and molecular biology experiments.
- Design and evaluate primers for molecular biology applications.
- Perform and support analysis of Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) data.
- Analyse and interpret DNA sequences and other genomic datasets using bioinformatics tools.




- Apply basic bioinformatics techniques for biological data processing and interpretation.
- Maintain laboratory records, experimental data and research documentation.
- Assist in cell culture and other molecular biology laboratory activities.
- Support ongoing research activities within the Cell Culture and Molecular Biology department.

Required Skills

- Knowledge of DNA and RNA isolation techniques.
- Understanding of gene expression studies and molecular biology.
- Knowledge of primer designing.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of bioinformatics tools and techniques.
- Understanding of WGS data analysis and sequence analysis.
- Familiarity with bioinformatics databases and tools.
- Analytical thinking, research aptitude and data interpretation skills.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- Candidates with academic projects, dissertations or research experience in bioinformatics, genomics, molecular biology or computational biology will be preferred.
- Practical exposure to WGS/NGS data analysis will be an added advantage.
- Familiarity with bioinformatics tools, databases and basic programming for biological data analysis will be beneficial.
