Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Purchase Engineer with knowledge of procurement activities in the Oil & Gas industry. The candidate should have experience in sourcing engineering materials, vendor management, price negotiation, purchase order processing and material procurement as per project requirements.

Candidates with experience in Oil & Gas, EPC projects, refineries, petrochemical plants and engineering manufacturing companies will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Handle end-to-end purchasing and procurement activities for Oil & Gas projects.
- Source and develop new vendors, suppliers and manufacturers.
- Procure raw materials, pipes, fittings, flanges, valves, plates, forgings and other engineering components.
- Obtain and evaluate technical and commercial quotations from suppliers.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules and commercial conditions.
- Prepare and release Purchase Orders (POs).
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Verify material specifications, technical datasheets and customer requirements.
- Coordinate with engineering, production, quality control and stores departments.
- Follow up on pending orders, material shortages and delivery schedules.




- Prepare quotation comparisons, purchase reports and procurement documentation.
- Ensure purchased materials meet applicable quality standards and customer specifications.

Required Skills
- Knowledge of Oil & Gas procurement and purchasing processes.
- Experience in mechanical and engineering material procurement.
- Knowledge of pipes, fittings, flanges, valves and structural materials.
- Understanding of material grades, technical specifications and engineering drawings.
- Vendor development and supplier management.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Knowledge of MS Excel, ERP or SAP systems.
- Ability to prepare comparative statements and purchase orders.
- Good coordination and follow-up skills.

Educational Qualification & Experience
- B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3–7 years of relevant experience in purchase and procurement.
- Previous experience in the Oil & Gas industry will be highly preferred.
- Ability to independently handle procurement activities.
