Role & responsibilities THE BRIJ Academy seeks an creative and passionate Instructional Designer/Curriculum Designer with expertise in Design & Craft Education, Experiential Learning, and Project-Based Learning (PBL). The role involves designing engaging, interdisciplinary curricula and learner-centred educational experiences that connect creativity, culture, craftsmanship, and real-world problem-solving.

The incumbent will collaborate with faculty, artists, designers, artisans, and industry experts to develop transformative learning journeys that inspire inquiry, innovation, collaboration, and hands-on learning.

Curriculum Design & Development

- Design and develop curriculum frameworks, learning pathways, academic modules, lesson plans, and learning outcomes across disciplines such as Art, Craft, Design, Culture, Heritage, Sustainability, and Creative Entrepreneurship.
- Create competency-based and interdisciplinary curricula aligned with the Academy's vision.
- Develop faculty guides, student handbooks, learning resources, and assessment frameworks.

Experiential Learning Design
- Design immersive, hands-on learning experiences that connect theory with practice.
- Develop studio-based, field-based, community-based, and maker-centred learning modules.
- Integrate reflection, observation, storytelling, documentation,



and portfolio-building into learning journeys.

Project-Based Learning (PBL)
- Develop structured PBL frameworks that encourage research, ideation, prototyping, creation, and presentation.
- Design capstone projects, design challenges, craft innovation initiatives, and community-engaged learning projects.
- Create assessment rubrics aligned with project outcomes and learner competencies.

Design & Craft Integration
- Develop curricula that bridge traditional crafts and cultural practices with contemporary design thinking.
- Collaborate with artisans, designers, and subject experts to curate meaningful learning experiences.
- Promote material exploration, sustainable making, heritage awareness, and creative entrepreneurship.

Assessment & Quality Enhancement
- Design learner-centric assessment systems focused on portfolios, exhibitions, presentations, projects, and reflective practice.
- Monitor curriculum effectiveness through learner feedback and outcome analysis.
- Continuously review and enhance curriculum quality and relevance.

Faculty Collaboration & Capacity Building
- Partner with faculty and subject matter experts to translate knowledge into effective learning experiences.
- Conduct workshops on experiential learning, active learning methodologies, assessment design, and project facilitation.
- Support implementation and continuous improvement of academic programs.
