Role Overview The architect will lead the Data & Analytics practice in retail customer. The role carries end-to-end ownership of data architecture, delivery quality and team growth, and the candidate will serve as a trusted technical advisor to the customers data leadership. Key Responsibilities
- The architect will own the end-to-end data architecture on Google Cloud Platform BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer and Dataplex.
- The architect will lead and mentor a team of 15+ GCP data engineers, establishing engineering standards, code quality and delivery rigour.
- The architect will drive BigQuery performance and cost optimization,
data quality and data governance.
- The architect will build AI-ready data foundations in partnership with the AI Engineering team, including Vertex AI and Gemini-based Talk to Data use cases.
Must-Have Qualifications
- The candidate will bring 12–15+ years in data engineering / architecture, including 5+ years on GCP with deep, hands-on BigQuery expertise.
- The candidate will demonstrate solid Python and SQL skills, with experience in batch and streaming data pipelines.
- The candidate will have a proven track record of leading large offshore data teams in client-facing roles.
- The candidate will possess excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
