Role Description The Fitter role at Skill Matrix is a full-time, on-site position based in Bhopal. The Fitter will interpret technical drawings and specifications, measure and mark out materials, and assemble, install, and align mechanical components and equipment.

Daily responsibilities include using hand and power tools, performing fitting, drilling, grinding, and cutting operations, and ensuring that assemblies meet quality and safety standards. The role also involves carrying out routine maintenance, troubleshooting basic mechanical issues,



and collaborating with supervisors and colleagues to meet production deadlines. Accurate documentation of work performed and adherence to workplace safety practices are essential.

Qualifications

- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for cutting, drilling, grinding, and assembling mechanical parts.
- Experience with fitting, alignment, and installation of mechanical components, machinery, or structures.
- Knowledge of basic mechanical principles, measurement techniques, and quality checks.
- Understanding of workplace safety standards, use of personal protective equipment, and safe handling of tools and materials.
- Ability to work in an industrial or workshop environment, including standing for extended periods and handling moderate physical tasks.
- Robust attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented setting.
- ITI, vocational certification, or relevant technical training in fitting or mechanical trades (or equivalent practical experience).
- Prior experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial maintenance is an advantage.
