Role & responsibilities

Work with the estimation team to study customer enquiries, interpret engineering drawings, calculate component weights and assist in evaluating manufacturing requirements and costs for forged and machined components. Training and guidance will be provided.

- Study customer enquiries, engineering drawings and technical specifications to understand component requirements.
- Identify and verify dimensions, material grades, quantities, tolerances and machining requirements.
- Prepare technical estimation worksheets and cross-check them against customer drawings and documents.
- Calculate finished, forging and cut weights based on component drawings, manufacturing requirements and applicable allowances.
- Learn manufacturing processes such as press forging, ring rolling, open-die forging and die forging.
- Assist in assessing manufacturing feasibility and selecting suitable manufacturing routes and raw-material sections.
- Assist in preparing costing sheets covering raw material, forging,



heat treatment, machining and testing.
- Coordinate with internal departments to obtain material prices, manufacturing inputs and technical clarifications.
- Identify missing information and technical discrepancies for review.
- Maintain technical records, drawings, calculation sheets and revisions.

Preferred candidate profile

- Basic understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand dimensions and tolerances.
- Basic knowledge of engineering materials.
- Ability to perform volume and weight calculations for basic component shapes.
- Basic proficiency in MS Excel, including formulas, for engineering calculations and estimation worksheets.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and 3D modelling software such as Creo or SolidWorks is preferred.
