· Collectscurrentsymptoms,aswellasadetailedpatienthistoryandthenconsultsandcoordinateswithhealthcareteammemberstoassess, plan, implementandevaluate patient careplans

· Managesbasiclifesupportneedsandstabilizespatientsuntiltheattendingphysicianisavailable,baseduponnursingstandards andprotocol

· AssistinvariousprocedureslikeIntubation,ChestTubeInsertion,InternalJugular,Ryle'sTubeinsertionandFoley'sCatheter Insertionetc.

· Initiates corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverseSymptomatology

· Recordspatients’currentvitalsigns

· Preparethe patientforvariousinvestigationslikeX-ray, ECG,Ultrasound,MRIetc.

· Worksdirectlyunderphysicians,assistingthemduringexams,diagnostictestingandtreatments

· Preparesandadministers(orally,subcutaneously,throughan IV)andrecordsprescribedmedications.

· Reportsadversereactionstomedicationsortreatmentsinaccordancewiththepolicyregardingtheadministrationofmedications bya licensed registerednurse

Teaches patients and significant others howto manage their illness/injury, by explaining: post-treatment home care needs, diet/nutrition/exerciseprograms, self-administration of medication and rehabilitation, as well as provides referrals to otherhealthcareprofessionalsfor follow-uptreatment
