Job Title: Embedded Engineer Experience: Fresh Graduate Department: Engineering About Flexli
Flexli Technologies builds warehouse automation and parcel-sortation systems for leading e-commerce and logistics companies in India. Our hardware team owns everything from system architecture and PCB design to embedded firmware and deployment.
mSort, our flagship product, is a fleet of patented high-speed sortation robots. The system sorts up to 10,800 parcels per hour. Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated and technically curious Embedded/Robotics Engineer - Intern to join our embedded/robotics engineering team. The candidate will work on the development, testing, debugging, and maintenance of embedded systems used in autonomous/industrial robots.
The role provides an opportunity to work with microcontrollers, ESP32, embedded C/C++, CAN communication, sensors, motors, Wi-Fi/TCP communication, RTOS, and hardware-software integration.
Key Job Responsibilities
1. Embedded Software Development
Develop and maintain firmware using C/C++. Work with microcontrollers such as ESP32 and other embedded platforms.
Implement application logic, device control, monitoring, and fault-handling mechanisms.
Understand and work with existing firmware architecture and coding standards.
1. RTOS & Task Management
Develop and maintain FreeRTOS tasks. Work with queues, semaphores, mutexes, timers, interrupts, and task synchronization.
Analyze task timing, CPU utilization, and system performance.
1. Communication Protocols
Implement and debug CAN communication between controllers and devices. Work with TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, UART, GPIO, I2C, SPI, and other embedded communication interfaces.
Troubleshoot communication failures and implement appropriate retry/error-handling mechanisms.
1. Robotics & Motor Control
Work with motor controllers, motors, encoders, and related hardware. Support robot movement and control-related firmware.
Understand basic concepts of motor control, feedback, sensors, and safety mechanisms.
1. HardwareSoftware Integration
Interface embedded firmware with sensors, motor drivers, battery-monitoring systems, and other electronic components. Perform hardware bring-up and board-level testing.
Use datasheets and hardware schematics to understand interfaces and troubleshoot issues.
1. Debugging & Testing
Debug firmware and identify root causes of hardware/software issues. Perform unit, integration, functional, and system-level testing.
Analyze logs, CAN messages, serial output, and other diagnostic information.
Reproduce, document, and resolve field/test failures.
1. System Monitoring & Diagnostics
Implement system health monitoring and fault detection. Develop diagnostic logs and error-handling mechanisms.
Support development of mechanisms for detecting communication, sensor, battery, and motor-related failures.
1. Documentation
Create and maintain technical documentation for firmware, interfaces, test procedures, and troubleshooting. Document bugs, root causes, corrective actions, and test results.
Maintain transparent code comments and development records.
1. Collaboration
Work closely with hardware, firmware,
mechanical, testing, and system engineering teams. Participate in design discussions, code reviews, testing, and technical problem-solving.
Support engineers during robot integration and validation.
