Role & responsibilities

- Oversee daily dyeing, finishing, laboratory, and color matching operations to ensure timely recipe development, shade approvals, and production targets.

- Lead and manage lab assistants, colorists, chemists, supervisors, operators, and support staff to ensure high productivity and quality standards.

- Develop and approve dyeing recipes, sample matching, batch preparation, and process parameters for bulk production.

- Monitor dyeing machine loading/unloading schedules and ensure efficient utilization of production resources.

- Conduct pH checks, chemical dosing verification, and dye/chemical requisition management.

- Troubleshoot shade variations during production and implement corrective actions to reduce reprocessing and dyeing defects.

- Ensure compliance with color standards through spectrophotometer analysis, Delta E measurements, and visual evaluations.

- Implement and maintain SOPs for color matching, laboratory testing, machine operations, and equipment calibration.

- Coordinate closely with production, quality, and technical teams to ensure consistent shade reproducibility and customer satisfaction.

- Optimize dye and chemical consumption to improve cost efficiency and minimize wastage.

- Monitor quality performance, process deviations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and environmental compliance standards.

- Prepare production reports, laboratory records,



and performance metrics for management review.

- Perform any additional responsibilities assigned by management from time to time.

Preferred candidate profile

- B.Tech / Diploma in Textile Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Textile Technology, or a related discipline.

- 8-10 years of hands-on experience in textile dyeing, color matching, laboratory operations, and production management.

- Strong expertise in dyeing and finishing processes for textile manufacturing.

- Advanced knowledge of spectrophotometers (Datacolor, X-Rite), color matching software, and dye/pigment chemistry.

- Proven experience in shade development, recipe formulation, and bulk production approvals.

- Strong understanding of color measurement standards, Delta E evaluation, and quality control systems.

- Excellent leadership, team management, and people-handling skills.

- Sound knowledge of dyeing machine operations, process optimization, and production planning.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for production and shade-related issues.

- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.

- Exceptional color vision with the ability to distinguish subtle shade differences (preferred certification in Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Hue Test).

- Positive communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
