The company is working on next-generation unmanned underwater platforms designed to operate autonomously in challenging environments. Its work combines mechanical engineering, robotics, advanced manufacturing, and autonomous systems, solving complex engineering challenges with real-world industrial and strategic applications.

The Role

We are looking for a skilled CAD Designer with 4–10 years of experience in mechanical design and 3D modelling. The ideal candidate should have hands-on expertise in NX CAD or other leading 3D CAD platforms and experience developing precision-engineered components and assemblies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design and Modelling

- Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD designs of mechanical components and assemblies using NX CAD (preferred), SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA.
- Develop and refine engineering drawings for manufacturing and assembly.
- Ensure designs meet technical specifications, functional requirements, and applicable engineering standards.

2. Prototyping and Testing

- Work with the R&D; team on prototype development and testing.
- Conduct feasibility studies and support stress analysis using simulation tools such as ANSYS.
- Identify and resolve design challenges during testing and validation.

3. Process Optimisation

- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimise designs for production.
- Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.




- Improve existing designs for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.

4. Collaboration and Documentation

- Work with multidisciplinary engineering teams across mechanical, electrical, and software functions.
- Prepare engineering documentation, technical specifications, and design records.
- Contribute to project planning, timelines, and resource estimation.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Design, or a related discipline.
- 4–10 years of experience in mechanical design or engineering.
- Experience in R&D-driven; environments, preferably involving electromechanical systems, robotics, or complex machinery.
- Proficiency in NX CAD and PLM systems.
- Familiarity with simulation tools such as ANSYS or Abaqus.
- Strong understanding of engineering materials, manufacturing processes, and prototyping techniques.
- Knowledge of DFM, DFA, and DFMEA principles.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and design validation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver within project timelines.
