Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient PEB Design Engineer to join our structural engineering team in

Chennai. In this role, you will be responsible for the structural analysis, design, and cost/weight optimization of Pre-

Engineered Buildings (PEB) and associated industrial steel structures. You will collaborate closely with drafting,

estimation, fabrication, and project management teams to deliver protected, cost-effective, and fully code-compliant structural solutions.

Key Responsibilities

 Structural Design & Analysis: Perform comprehensive analysis and structural design of PEB frames, primary framing

(clear span, multi-span, lean-to), secondary members (purlins, girts, eave struts), crane runway girders, mezzanines,

bracings, and foundation/base plate systems.

 Code Application & Compliance: Apply relevant Indian and American structural engineering design standards strictly to wind load calculations, seismic analysis, stability checks, and connection detailing.

 3D Modeling & Software Execution: Develop accurate structural models, run design optimizations, and extract detailed calculation output using Metal Building Software (MBS) and STAAD.Pro.

 Drawing Review & Vetting: Thoroughly review AutoCAD structural drawings, approval plans, and shop/fabrication drawings to ensure alignment with design calculations, architectural constraints, and fabrication standards.

 Optimization & Value Engineering:



Optimize steel consumption and connection configurations without compromising structural integrity or project specifications.

 Cross-Functional Coordination: Provide technical design input to estimation teams during tendering/proposals, and address Requests for Information (RFIs) from fabrication facilities and project erection teams.

Candidate Profile & Qualifications

 Education & Experience: M.E. / M.Tech in Structural Engineering with 1 to 3 years of relevant design experience in

Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB), OR B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering with 3 to 5 years of dedicated PEB design experience.

 Mandatory Codes & Standards: In-depth practical exposure to IS 800:2007, IS 875 (Parts 1 to 5), IS 1893, AISC 360,

and ASCE 7.

 Mandatory Software Tools: Hands-on proficiency in MBS (Metal Building Software), STAAD.Pro, and AutoCAD.

 Technical Competencies: Strong grasp of structural steel design principles, cold-formed light-gauge section behavior,

crane load dynamics, bolted and welded moment connection design, and base plate detailing.

 Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, proactive communication, attention to engineering accuracy, and ability to meet project deadlines
