Job Summary

We are looking for a Design Engineer with 24 years of hands-on experience in CATIA V5 software, preferably in the automotive plastic components or seating domain.

The candidate should have strong knowledge of 3D modelling, surface modelling, assembly design, and 2D drafting, along with an understanding of automotive product design and development processes.

Key Responsibilities

- Create and modify 3D models using CATIA V5.
- Develop 2D engineering drawings and manufacturing drawings.
- Work on part modelling, surface modelling, and assembly design.
- Design and develop automotive plastic components or seating system components.
- Understand customer requirements and implement design modifications.
- Perform design changes based on engineering and customer inputs.
- Ensure dimensional accuracy and adherence to GD&T; requirements.
- Apply DFM principles and manufacturing feasibility considerations.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams such as manufacturing, quality, and tooling.
- Participate in design reviews and support product development activities.

Technical Skills Required





- Hands-on experience in CATIA V5.
- Knowledge of the following CATIA workbenches:

- Part Design

- Generative Shape Design (GSD)

- Assembly Design

- Drafting

- Wireframe and Surface Design

- Sketcher
- Valuable understanding of 3D modelling and 2D detailing.
- Knowledge of GD&T; and engineering drawing interpretation.
- Understanding of automotive design and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of DFM and DFA concepts.

Domain-Specific Experience 1. Plastic Domain

- Automotive interior and exterior plastic components.
- Instrument panels, door trims, consoles, pillars, and plastic covers.
- Knowledge of draft angles, ribs, bosses, wall thickness, and snap fits.
- Understanding of injection moulding and tooling fundamentals.

2. Seating Domain

- Automotive seat structures and components.
- Seat frames, brackets, recliners, tracks, and mechanisms.
- Seat plastic trims and covers.
- Basic knowledge of automotive seating systems and design requirements.
