Responsibilities:
- Redesigning prototype parts (wooden and 3D-printed) into sheet-metal and machined parts in SolidWorks
- Designing the machine’s frame, brackets, mounts and mechanisms for laser cutting, bending and machining
- Preparing manufacturing drawings and coordinating with local fabrication vendors to get parts made
- Solving real mechanical problems such as alignment, jamming, vibration, and parts exposed to heat, water and milk
- Assembling, testing and improving mechanisms on the working machine
- Selecting food-secure materials (SS304, food-grade plastics) and keeping the design easy to service and clean
- Documenting designs, BOMs and assembly steps
