We are looking for a Database Developer with 4+ years of hands-on experience in database development, design, optimization, and production support. The candidate should have strong working knowledge of PostgreSQL, SQL, and PL/pgSQL, along with experience in developing complex queries, database objects, performance tuning, data migration, and troubleshooting production database issues.

The role requires a technically sound professional who can work closely with backend developers, QA, DevOps, architects, and infrastructure teams to deliver secure, reliable, and high-performance database solutions.

- Design, develop, maintain, and support PostgreSQL databases.
- Create and maintain tables, views, indexes, sequences, functions, and triggers.
- Develop complex and optimized SQL queries using joins, CTEs, subqueries, and other SQL constructs.
- Develop and maintain PL/pgSQL functions and stored procedures.
- Perform SQL query optimization and database performance tuning.
- Analyze query execution plans using EXPLAIN and EXPLAIN ANALYZE.
- Design appropriate indexes to improve query performance.
- Troubleshoot slow queries, database performance issues, locks, and deadlocks.
- Work with large-volume databases and optimize data retrieval and processing.
- Support database migration, data import/export, and data transformation activities.
- Implement database constraints and ensure data integrity.
- Work with JSON/JSONB and PostgreSQL-specific data types.
- Perform database backup, restore, and recovery activities.
- Monitor database performance, connections, storage, and resource utilization.
- Manage database users, roles, permissions, and access controls.




- Troubleshoot production database issues and assist in root-cause analysis.
- Support database maintenance activities including VACUUM and ANALYZE.
- Work with development and infrastructure teams to resolve database-related issues.
- Follow database security, performance, availability, and development best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

- Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 4+ years of total IT experience.
- 4+ years of relevant experience in database development.
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and SQL-based database development.
- Experience in production database support and troubleshooting will be preferred.
