Role Definition As a Supplier Development Engineer, you will provide technical expertise and leadership to Caterpillars supply base in the execution of a robust quality plan within the suppler network. In addition, to implement a well-documented continuous quality improvement process and strict process controls. This will be used for the evaluation and development of recent and existing suppliers worldwide, to maximizing Quality, Cost, Logistics, Delivery, and Management (QCLDM) within the supply network. To ensure that a supplier is able to meet corporate and business unit requirements for SER certification levels and customer requirements for quality, cost, and delivery of purchased material. .

Responsible for supplier development & components development in Hydraulics & Powertrain category

Lead APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) activities including evaluating PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) elements and providing processing support as appropriate

Promote processes and technologies to reduce cost and improve quality and availability of purchased products

Support on field issues through effective analysis and implement the corrective active actions

Evaluate Supplier capabilities and help develop sourcing options for the global product requirements

Develop professional network both internally and externally

ability to apply related knowledge, experience and skills into real practice.

Facilitates supplier partnering arrangements that share risk and reward.





Monitors supplier performance; works to resolve discrepancies between performance and agreements.

Develops quality standards and controls for suppliers.

Level - Extensive Experience:

Develops testing and validation procedures to test the quality of manufactured parts/products so that it meets desired customer standards.

Identifies and resolves key issues with PPAP implementation and submissions.

Monitors the execution of PPAP steps within a facility and ensures their compliance with industry standards and internal guidelines.

Oversees PPAP implementation; Quality Orientation: Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques; ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization.

Understanding and insight into evaluating current product quality and production methods and ability to maintains focus on the continuous improvement of processes, products and services.

Identifies process problems that limit performance.

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics/Manufacturing engineering with a total experience 10+ years Purchasing/Supplier Development/Engineering Design/Manufacturing Engineering/Quality Management functions

Proven experience in Hydraulics components development or engineering design with exposure to supplier development processes are preferred

Good project management skill

Travel: 30% of the time
