Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Costing & Estimation Executive / Engineer with a strong background in furniture manufacturing, retail fixtures, joinery and interior fit-out projects. The candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, material calculations, BOQs and production costing.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare detailed cost estimates for custom furniture, retail fixtures, display units and joinery works.
- Review AutoCAD drawings, technical specifications and BOQs to calculate project costs.
- Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM), Material Take-Off (MTO) and detailed costing sheets.
- Calculate material, labour, hardware, fabrication, finishing and transportation costs.
- Coordinate with the design, procurement and production teams for accurate costing.
- Obtain and compare vendor quotations to ensure competitive pricing.
- Analyse manufacturing costs and identify opportunities for cost optimisation.
- Prepare quotations and cost comparisons for current and ongoing projects.
- Monitor estimated versus actual production costs and highlight variations.
- Maintain costing records,



rate analysis and material price databases.

Required Skills & Qualifications

 Experience in furniture costing, estimation, joinery or retail interior fit-out projects.

 Strong knowledge of plywood, MDF, laminates, veneers, hardware, metal,

glass and finishing materials.

 Understanding of furniture manufacturing processes, production methods and material consumption.

 Ability to read and interpret AutoCAD drawings and technical specifications.

 Good knowledge of BOQ preparation, BOM, MTO and rate analysis.

 Proficiency in MS Excel and AutoCAD.

 Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and cost-control abilities.

 Ability to coordinate with factory production and procurement teams.

Preferred Candidate Profile

 Previous experience in a furniture manufacturing factory or retail fit-out company.

 Experience in costing for custom-made furniture, retail fixtures and display units.

 Practical understanding of factory production costs, wastage and material optimisation.
