What this actually is
Most accounting jobs expect you to sit in a glass cubicle, wait for invoices to land on your desk, and type numbers into a screen after the fact.
This isn't that.
We are building a secondary steel manufacturing plant from the ground up. In a steel mill, money isn't just an abstract entry in a ledgerits tied up in the scrap and sponge iron sitting in the yard, the massive power draw of the induction furnace, the yield loss between raw charge and finished billets, and the trucks clearing the weighbridge.
We need a qualified Chartered Accountant who wants to understand how a heavy manufacturing business actually breathes. You will work directly alongside the promoters.
What your day-to-day will actually look like
- Owning the books: Running daily accounts cleanly on Tally Prime without letting backlogs pile up.
- Keeping us legal: Handling GST, TDS, income tax filings, audits, and statutory compliances proactively so we never scramble at the last minute.
- Tracking the physical floor: Reconciling what is on paper with what is physically happening in the plant—tracking raw materials, scrap, billets, and stock movements.
- Costing the furnace: Figuring out our true cost per tonne by factoring in electricity consumption, consumables, labour, and production losses.
- Managing working capital: Keeping an eye on customer payments, supplier dues, bank limits, and loan obligations so cash flow stays healthy.
- Building the foundations: Putting proper financial controls and reporting systems in place from scratch, because right now, we are building the infrastructure, not inheriting an existing corporate machine.
Who will love this role
- You have grit and curiosity: You don’t just pass an accounting entry when a stock reconciliation doesn't match—you walk out to the yard or call the supervisor to find out why there's a discrepancy.
- You value truth over comfort: If you spot a leak in cash flow,
an inflated vendor bill, or something that doesn't feel right, you tell us straight. We respect people who protect the company's interests, even when the truth is uncomfortable.
- You want to learn an industry: You realize that knowing how steel is procured, produced, and dispatched makes you a far more valuable finance leader than someone who only knows tax laws.
- You want a career, not a stepping stone: You aren't looking for a 12-month job to pad your CV before moving to a city MNC. You want to anchor yourself to a growing industrial enterprise and grow with it over the years.
Who should NOT apply
- If you want a cushy desk job where you never have to deal with factory operations, vendors, or physical inventory.
- If you are just looking for any job because you're desperate or stuck, and plan to jump ship the moment something easier comes along.
- If you wait to be micro-managed. We don't have time to handhold every task. We need someone who takes ownership, takes initiative, and solves problems independently.
What we care about
- Qualification: You are a qualified CA (ICAI member). Freshly qualified CAs with a strong work ethic and sharp fundamentals are very welcome.
- Skills: Good command over Tally Prime, Excel, GST, TDS, and financial statement prep. Prior exposure to manufacturing costing, project finance, or bank loans is a bonus, but your attitude and willingness to learn matter infinitely more.
- Character: Honesty, dependability, common sense, and the spine to stand up for what is right.
A final word At Karbon, we believe a business only grows when the people building it grow with it. We aren't looking for an impressive CV that comes with an entitled attitude. We are looking for the right person who wants to roll up their sleeves, earn our trust, and build something substantial from the ground up.
If this sounds like the kind of setting where you want to spend the next several years of your life, let’s talk.
