Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Cashier role based at our store in Bankura. The Cashier is responsible for operating the billing counters, scanning and processing items, handling cash, card, and digital payments, and issuing receipts accurately.

The role includes maintaining proper cash balances, reconciling daily sales, and following company procedures for returns, exchanges, and discounts.



The Cashier also supports customers with queries at the checkout, ensures queues move efficiently, and maintains cleanliness and organization at the billing area. The role may involve coordinating with the store team on price checks, stock availability, and helping during peak hours to ensure a smooth shopping experience.

Qualifications

- Ability to handle cash transactions, card payments, and digital payment platforms accurately and responsibly.
- Basic numeracy, attention to detail, and comfort working with billing systems or point-of-sale (POS) terminals.
- Robust customer service skills, including polite communication, patience, and problem-solving at the checkout.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment, stand for extended periods, and manage peak-hour workloads.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with retail processes such as billing, refunds, and discounts.
- Prior experience as a cashier or in retail operations is preferred but not mandatory.
- Minimum educational qualification: secondary school level or equivalent; higher education is an advantage.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays, in accordance with store requirements.
