Position: Buyback Executive

Job Purpose To evaluate, inspect and assess customers' old devices and offer competitive buyback prices to convert potential customers into successful buyback transactions. The candidate should have strong technical knowledge of mobile phones and other electronic devices, along with good customer-handling and sales-conversion skills.

Key Responsibilities

- Technical Knowledge & Device Assessment
- Should have strong technical knowledge of smartphones, laptops, desktops, iPads and other electronic devices.
- Identify devices across all major brands and models.
- Conduct physical and functional inspections of old devices to assess their condition.
- Identify technical issues, hardware/software defects, screen damage, battery health and other device-related problems.
- Evaluate the overall condition of devices and determine appropriate buyback values.
- Buyback & Sales Conversion
- Handle customers visiting the store for old-device valuation and buyback enquiries.
- Understand customer requirements and offer suitable buyback prices based on device condition and market value.
- Proactively convert price enquiries into successful buyback transactions.
- Negotiate effectively with customers while ensuring a positive customer experience.
- Support the store team in achieving buyback targets and business objectives.
- Customer Handling
- Interact confidently with customers and explain device evaluation and pricing.
- Build customer trust through transparent inspection and accurate valuation.
- Handle customer queries, objections and price negotiations professionally.




- Market & Technology Awareness
- Stay updated on the latest smartphone launches, technology trends and repair techniques.
- Maintain knowledge of current resale values and market demand for different brands and models.
- Continuously upgrade technical knowledge to improve device assessment accuracy.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Prior experience in mobile phone repair, mobile retail, device testing or buyback operations.
- Robust technical knowledge of smartphones, particularly Android and iOS devices.
- Good understanding of hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Ability to identify device defects and assess device condition accurately.
- Strong communication, negotiation and customer-handling skills.
- Sales-oriented approach with the ability to achieve conversion targets.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet business deadlines.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.

Preferred Candidate Background
- Candidates with prior experience in the mobile phone industry will be highly preferred.
- Candidates from mobile repair centres, mobile retail stores, refurbished mobile businesses and device buyback companies will be given preference.
- Experience with Cashify, iPro or Unicorn will be an added advantage.
- Candidates having hands-on experience in mobile inspection, device grading, technical evaluation and resale valuation will be preferred.
