Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Business Development professional with a strong engineering background to drive business growth in the industrial automation and smart manufacturing space.

The role involves identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic customer relationships, understanding technical requirements, and promoting customised automation and automated testing solutions to manufacturing companies.

The ideal candidate should combine a sound engineering foundation with strong commercial acumen, proven B2B business development experience, and the ability to convert technical requirements into business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

- Identify and develop recent business opportunities across manufacturing, automotive, electronics, electrical, and allied industries.
- Develop relationships with key decision-makers, including Plant Heads, Manufacturing Heads, Engineering Heads, Operations Heads, and senior management.
- Promote industrial automation solutions, assembly line automation, robotic integration, and special-purpose machinery.
- Generate business opportunities for automated testing, functional testing, PCBA testing, inspection, machine vision, and traceability solutions.
- Understand customer manufacturing processes and technical requirements to propose appropriate engineering solutions.
- Work closely with internal engineering and design teams to develop customised technical and commercial proposals.
- Manage the complete business development cycle, from lead generation and customer meetings to negotiations and order closure.
- Prepare techno-commercial proposals, presentations, quotations, and business plans.




- Build and manage a solid sales pipeline and achieve assigned revenue and business development targets.
- Identify new market segments, develop strategic accounts, and expand existing customer relationships.
- Monitor industry developments, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities in smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0.
- Represent the organisation at industry exhibitions, trade fairs, and customer events.

Desired Candidate Profile

- B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline is mandatory.
- 10–12 years of experience in business development, technical sales, or sales of industrial automation and engineering solutions.
- Proven track record in B2B sales, customer acquisition, and business development.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, industrial automation, assembly systems, and automated testing equipment.
- Experience in selling capital equipment, customised machinery, automation systems, or engineering solutions.
- Ability to understand technical requirements and translate them into commercially viable solutions.
- Strong networking, negotiation, presentation, and client relationship management skills.
- Ability to independently generate leads, develop accounts, negotiate, and close business.
- Willingness to travel for customer meetings and business development activities.
