Must have skills

Strong hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Fabric administration, including tenant settings, workspace and capacity management, security roles, permissions, service principals, gateways, monitoring and troubleshooting.

Strong SQL is essential, incremental loading, watermarks and SCD Type 1/Type 2.

You should understand Lakehouse, Warehouse, OneLake, shortcuts, Dataflows Gen2, metadata-driven pipelines, audit/error handling and DevQAProd deployments.

Power BI skills should include semantic modelling, Direct Lake, DirectQuery, RLS, DAX and refresh troubleshooting.



Power Query/M and Power Automate are also necessary for transformations, query folding, pipeline automation, API calls, authentication and error handling.

Good to have - Working knowledge of PySpark, Delta Lake optimization, notebooks, partitioning, Z-ordering and liquid clustering. Fabric REST APIs, PowerShell or Python are practical for automating administration, permissions, monitoring and deployments. Knowledge of Git, CI/CD, Microsoft Purview, data governance, sensitivity labels, lineage.
