Job Title: Automotive New Product Development - Exterior Trim Design Engineer

Experience: 3- 10 Years

Primary Skill: CATIA V5, Frontend Bumper, Exterior Trims,New Product Development

Additional Skills: 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX), Teamcenter & VisMockup

Key Skills & Responsibilities

Strong hands-on experience in CATIA V5 3D modelling, surface modelling and detailing.

Experience in Automotive Exterior Plastic Component Design and New Part Development (NPD).

Experience in designing automotive exterior components such as:

- Front & Rear Bumper Fascia
- Bumper Grille & Grille Inserts
- Fascia Supports & Brackets
- Energy Absorbers
- Air Deflectors
- Tow Hook Covers and Exterior Trims

Solid knowledge of plastic product design principles, including wall thickness, rib design, draft angles, bosses and snap-fit features. Understanding of injection moulding processes, tooling requirements and plastic material properties.





Knowledge of Class-A surfacing, styling data translation and surface quality.

Good understanding of GD&T;, tolerance stack-up, gap & flush requirements.

Experience with vehicle packaging, clash detection and integration with adjacent vehicle components.

Familiarity with Teamcenter PLM, 3DX and VisMockup.

Knowledge of engineering changes, CAD data management and manufacturing processes.
