Position: Assistant Manager / HR Manager - Industrial Relations

Experience: 5 - 10 Years (preferably in manufacturing)

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager / HR Manager - Industrial Relations to manage employee relations, labour law compliance, workforce discipline, and industrial harmony across our jewellery manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in handling the blue-collar workforce, contract labour, employee grievances, statutory compliance, and liaison with government authorities.

Role & responsibilities

1. Industrial Relations & Employee Management

- Maintain harmonious industrial relations and a positive working environment across manufacturing units.
- Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters, misconduct, absenteeism, and workforce-related disputes.
- Manage domestic enquiries, show-cause notices, warning letters, and disciplinary proceedings.
- Develop effective communication and engagement practices for shop-floor employees.

2. Labour Law & Statutory Compliance

- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws, employment regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Oversee PF, ESIC, Professional Tax, Minimum Wages, Bonus, Gratuity, Contract Labour, and other applicable statutory compliances.
- Maintain statutory registers, employee records, notices, and documentation for inspections and audits.
- Coordinate with labour authorities, inspectors, legal advisors, and government departments as required.

3. Contract Labour & Workforce Administration

- Manage contract labour deployment, attendance, wage payments, contractor documentation, and statutory compliance.
- Monitor manpower strength, overtime, absenteeism, shift management, and workforce productivity.
- Ensure contractors comply with applicable employment and labour regulations.




- Coordinate with production and operations teams to address workforce shortages and operational challenges.

4. Compliance Audits & Risk Management

- Conduct periodic HR and labour compliance audits.
- Identify potential industrial relations risks and implement preventive measures.
- Handle labour inspections, notices, and documentation in coordination with legal and compliance teams.
- Support compliance requirements related to factory operations, workplace safety, and employee welfare.

5. HR Operations & Management Reporting

- Develop and maintain MIS reports on employee grievances, absenteeism, attrition, contract labour, and statutory compliance.
- Implement HR policies, disciplinary procedures, and workforce management practices.
- Coordinate with Production, Administration, Finance, Security, and senior management.
- Provide regular updates to management on industrial relations matters and compliance risks.

Preferred candidate profile

- Graduate or postgraduate in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Labour Welfare, or a related field.
- 5 - 10 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in manufacturing, jewellery, or another labour-intensive industry.
- Strong knowledge of Indian labour laws and Maharashtra-specific statutory requirements.
- Proven experience in managing blue-collar employees, contract labour, employee grievances, and disciplinary proceedings.
- Good communication, negotiation, conflict-resolution, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Experience handling labour inspections, compliance audits, and liaison with government authorities.
- Experience in gold jewellery, diamond jewellery, gems, or other manufacturing industries will be preferred.
- Ability to independently manage shop-floor employee relations and workforce-related issues.
- Robust understanding of factory working conditions, shift operations, overtime, and contractor management.
- Practical, solution-oriented approach with strong documentation and compliance discipline.
