Assistant Financial Reporting Manager

We are looking for an experienced finance professional to lead and develop our Bangalore finance team while overseeing key financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and control activities. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant who enjoys combining people leadership with hands-on financial analysis, reporting oversight, and continuous process improvement across multiple business units.

What You'll Be Doing

- Finance Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop the Bangalore finance team, setting clear priorities, building capability, and driving high performance.
- Work Allocation & Review: Allocate and review team workloads to ensure month-end, forecasting, and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved.
- Technical Support: Provide first-line support for technical accounting and process queries, escalating significant issues where required.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Build and maintain effective relationships with UK finance teams, regional finance teams, and the purchase ledger team.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve processes, standardise working practices, and strengthen the quality of offshore finance support.
- Month-End Oversight: Oversee assigned month-end activities and review reporting outputs to ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality.
- Group Cost Reporting: Support the preparation of Group Costs profit and loss reports across relevant business units.
- Salary Cost Analysis: Own salary cost variance analysis and reporting, reconciling supporting data and identifying emerging risks.
- Travel Cost Reporting: Manage reporting for directors’ travel costs, including expenditure analysis, trend monitoring, and investigation of unusual movements.
- Overhead Review: Review overhead cost analysis prepared by the Bangalore team and investigate material or unexpected variances.
- Intercompany Reconciliations: Support the investigation and resolution of intercompany variances.
- Balance Sheet Control: Oversee the preparation and maintenance of Group Costs balance sheets, ensuring reconciliations, controls, and reviews are completed accurately.
- Forecasting Review:



Review rolling forecast schedules prepared by the team, incorporating known risks and variances not reflected by budget holders.
- Budget Ownership: Lead the budgeting and forecasting process for five business units, ensuring submissions are accurate, complete, and delivered on schedule.
- Management Insight: Prepare clear variance analysis and performance commentary to support informed management decision-making.
- Budget Review: Review overhead budgets and forecasts prepared by the Bangalore finance team.
- Year-End & Audit Support: Support year-end reporting and external audit requirements through the preparation of clear and accurate supporting documentation.
- Ad Hoc Analysis: Produce ad hoc financial reports and analysis for management as required.

What We're Looking For

- Professional Qualification: ACCA, CIMA, or an equivalent recognised professional accounting qualification.
- Relevant Finance Experience: Experience in management accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting within a multi-entity or group environment.
- People Management: Proven experience managing a team, reviewing work,



and supporting the development of finance professionals.
- Core Accounting Knowledge: Practical experience with month-end reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments.
- Advanced Excel Skills: Strong capability in handling large data sets and producing clear, accurate, and structured analysis.
- Systems Knowledge: Experience with consolidation or reporting systems; familiarity with OneStream and ERP systems such as Navision or Business Central would be advantageous.
- Technology Awareness: Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot would be advantageous.
- Financial Control Expertise: Strong understanding of financial controls, reconciliations, and management reporting principles.
- Analytical Capability: Ability to convert detailed financial information into concise variance explanations and practical business insights.
- Leadership Style: A confident, supportive, and accountable team leader.
- Organisation & Planning: Strong prioritisation skills with the ability to work effectively to fixed reporting deadlines.
- Communication Skills: Ability to build productive relationships with UK and offshore stakeholders.
- Curiosity & Challenge: An analytical and inquisitive mindset with the confidence to investigate unusual movements and seek clarification where required.
- Attention to Detail: High levels of accuracy, sound judgement, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
