The Assistant Engineer - Factory Automation role is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)-based automation solutions across a range of industrial applications. The position manages projects end to end, from initial design and development through to commissioning and start-up, while supporting the ongoing troubleshooting and maintenance of PLC-based automation systems.

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and implement PLC-based automation solutions for industrial applications

- Programme and configure Mitsubishi PLCs for process and factory automation projects

- Design Human-Machine Interface interfaces and configure Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition systems using Genesis to support operational requirements

- Prepare electrical and automation engineering drawings using AutoCAD

- Execute projects from initial concept through to commissioning and start-up, ensuring timely delivery

- Troubleshoot and maintain PLC-based automation systems to minimise downtime

- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, clients, and vendors throughout the project lifecycle

- Travel to project sites as required, including potential international assignments

Requirements

- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering,



Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation, or an equivalent discipline

- Up to three years of hands-on experience in PLC or factory automation, with entry-level candidates who have relevant PLC and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition knowledge also encouraged to apply

- Knowledge of Mitsubishi PLC programming and configuration

- Knowledge of Human-Machine Interface design and development

- Experience with Genesis Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition systems

- Ability to prepare electrical and automation drawings using AutoCAD

- Basic knowledge of Open Platform Communications protocols and Omron PLCs

- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required
