Role Description We are looking for strong candidates with experience as an AS400 / IBM I application developer and handson expertise in RPG IV, RPGLE, ILE RPG, FreeFormat RPG, SQLRPGLE, and CL/CLLE. Candidates should also have strong communication skills and be able to take ownership of their tasks and deliverables.

Analyze existing AS400 applications and identify migration impacts, dependencies, and risks.

- Support migration and modernization initiatives from IBM i / AS400 to target platforms.
- Review and enhance RPG, CL, and DB2/400 components to align with migration requirements.
- Document application architecture, business logic, interfaces, and data flows.
- Assist in data extraction, conversion, reconciliation, and validation activities.
- Collaborate with business users, architects, and migration teams to define technical solutions.




- Troubleshoot migration-related issues and resolve application defects.
- Perform unit testing, system testing, integration testing, and support UAT activities.
- Validate migrated functionality and ensure business process continuity.
- Support cutover planning, deployment activities, and post-migration stabilization.
- Monitor batch jobs and resolve production issues during migration and hypercare phases.
- Prepare technical documentation, migration artifacts, and knowledge-transfer materials.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to development and migration standards.

Qualifications

Strong experience in AS400 / IBM i application development and support.

- Hands-on expertise in RPG IV, RPGLE, ILE RPG, Free-Format RPG, SQLRPGLE, and CL/CLLE.
- Strong knowledge of DB2/400, embedded SQL, and database design.
- Experience analyzing and documenting legacy AS400 applications for migration projects.
- Understanding of application modernization, system integration, and migration methodologies.
- Experience in code remediation, data validation, and migration testing.
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and performance-tuning skills.
- Knowledge of IBM i system utilities, job scheduling, spool file management, and batch processing.
- Familiarity with source control and change management tools.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with application modernization and cloud migration projects.
- Exposure to API integrations and modern application architectures.
- Experience working in Agile project environments.
- Knowledge of data migration and ETL concepts.
- Familiarity with ERP, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or Distribution business processes is an added advantage.
