Atean Healthcare Solutions is looking for skilled and result-oriented AR Callers (Accounts Receivable Executives) to join our US Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) team in Chennai.

The candidate will be responsible for handling international voice calls to US insurance companies, following up on outstanding medical claims, resolving claim denials, identifying reimbursement issues and ensuring timely collections.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in US medical billing, AR calling, insurance follow-ups and denial management, along with excellent verbal communication and analytical skills.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. Insurance Follow-up & AR Calling

- Make outbound calls to US insurance companies to follow up on pending and outstanding medical claims.
- Verify claim status, payment details and reimbursement timelines.
- Follow up on unpaid, underpaid and delayed claims.
- Ensure timely follow-up of assigned AR accounts.

2. Claim Status Verification

- Contact insurance representatives to understand claim processing status.
- Identify reasons for claim delays, rejections and non-payment.
- Obtain accurate information regarding claim adjudication and reimbursement.
- Maintain proper follow-up schedules for outstanding accounts.

3. Denial Management & Claim Resolution

- Identify and analyse claim denials and rejections.
- Understand denial reasons and determine appropriate corrective actions.
- Coordinate with internal teams for coding errors, eligibility issues, missing information and authorisation-related concerns.
- Initiate or coordinate appeals, reconsiderations and claim resubmissions as per payer guidelines.

4. Accounts Receivable Management

- Work on assigned AR accounts and outstanding claim inventories.
- Prioritise claims based on ageing, value and follow-up requirements.
- Identify opportunities to resolve pending claims and improve collections.
- Ensure accounts are worked within prescribed turnaround times.

Documentation & Reporting

- Maintain accurate records of insurance calls and claim follow-ups.
- Update claim status, payment details, denial reasons and next action in the billing system.
- Prepare and maintain AR follow-up and outstanding claims reports.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of account documentation.

6. Quality, Productivity & Compliance

- Achieve daily productivity, collection and quality targets.
- Maintain professional communication with US insurance representatives.
- Follow HIPAA requirements, client-specific guidelines and company policies.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and insurance information.
- Escalate complex or unresolved claims to the Team Leader or Manager.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Any graduate degree from a recognised university.
- 1-5 years of experience in US Medical Billing / Revenue Cycle Management (RCM).
- Prior experience in AR Calling, Insurance Follow-up or Accounts Receivable is preferred.
- Excellent verbal English communication skills.
- Confidence in handling international voice calls and interacting with US insurance representatives.
- Good understanding of US healthcare insurance processes and medical billing terminology.
- Knowledge of claim denials, EOB (Explanation of Advantages), ERA (Electronic Remittance Advice) and claim status codes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good documentation, time management and computer skills.
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel.
- Flexibility to work in night shifts aligned with US business hours.
