Job Purpose The Applications Developer designs, develops, enhances and supports business applications and automation solutions across the Microsoft Power Platform. The role works closely with senior developers and business stakeholders to deliver fit-for-purpose applications, improve operational processes and provide ongoing support for business-critical systems.

Responsibilities include application governance, platform administration, user support, release management, documentation and continuous improvement of internal applications and services.

Design and develop Canvas Apps and Model-Driven Apps.

Apply Power Fx formulas and approved development practices.

Build reliable and user-friendly application experiences.

Process automation

Build and enhance Power Automate cloud flows.

Automate business processes using approved connectors and patterns.

Monitor, troubleshoot and improve existing automations.

Data and reporting

Design Dataverse tables, relationships, business rules and business process flows.

Develop Power BI reports and dashboards.

Integrate reporting with Power Platform solutions.

Governance and Administration

Support application governance processes and standards.

Manage application access, security roles and environment administration activities.

Maintain solution inventories, documentation and support procedures.

Support and enhancement

Support applications built on Power Platform, Dataverse and SharePoint Online.

Manage BAU support requests, incidents and service improvements.





Prioritise and deliver application enhancements based on business needs.

Delivery and release

Gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Support testing, deployment, release and environment management.

Maintain deployment guides and technical and user documentation.

Standards and development

Participate in solution design discussions and follow agreed standards.

Assist with Microsoft 365 and external integrations using connectors and APIs.

Stay current with Power Platform and Microsoft technology developments.

Technical and Qualified Skills

Essential capability

Expected evidence

Power Platform experience

At least three years of experience in a Power Platform development role.

Core platform

Hands-on expertise with Power Apps, Dataverse, Power Automate, Power BI and Microsoft 365.

Application development

Experience with Power Fx and application development best practice.

Data and security

Understanding of Dataverse modelling, security roles, business rules and relationships.

Integration

Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, connectors and Power Platform integrations.

Lifecycle management

Experience with solution deployment and environment management.





Governance and Administration

Understanding of application governance, user administration, environment management and documentation standards.

Qualified skills

Strong troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, attention to detail and priority management.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field. Microsoft Power Platform certifications are preferred.
