BUILD THE NEXT GENERATION OF AI & ROBOTICS STEM PRODUCTS

Duet STEM is looking for a hands-on R&D; Engineer who can turn ideas into working, reliable products for schools, institutions and learning centres. You will own development from concept and prototype to testing and launch readiness, using customer needs and market insights to guide product decisions.

Role: AI & Robotics R&D; Engineer - STEM Product Development

WHAT YOU WILL DO

- Develop new AI-enabled robotics kits, learning tools and STEM products; improve existing products for usability, reliability and cost.
- Build and integrate hardware, firmware and software using sensors, motors, controllers and platforms such as Arduino, ESP32 and Raspberry Pi.
- Develop practical AI features such as computer vision, object detection or intelligent interaction, with measurable performance and a clear learning use case.
- Design experiments, debug hardware-software issues, test prototypes and document results; prepare bills of materials, setup guides and technical documentation.
- Work on mechanical enclosures and rapid prototypes using CAD and 3D printing, independently or with relevant collaborators.
- Understand classroom and lab requirements; turn feedback from educators, customers and demonstrations into product improvements and new development ideas.
- Research competing STEM/robotics products, features, pricing and emerging technologies to recommend feasible, differentiated products.
- Support marketing and sales with working demos, technical videos,



feature explanations and customer presentations. The primary focus of this role is R&D; and product development.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to move successful prototypes toward repeatable, launch-ready products.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- 2-5 years of hands-on experience in robotics, embedded systems, applied AI or product R&D;, including practical exposure to STEM/educational products or learning applications.
- Evidence of personally building and testing working systems, with clear ownership and outcomes.
- Strong Python and/or C/C++ skills, electronics integration and systematic debugging ability.
- Practical AI/ML or computer vision experience relevant to physical products; sound understanding of sensors, actuators and microcontrollers.
- Ability to balance technical feasibility, product cost, user needs and market relevance.
- Clear communication and confidence demonstrating technology to technical and non-technical audiences.
- B.E./B.Tech in a relevant engineering discipline.

ADDITIONAL STRENGTHS ROS/ROS 2, PCB design, CAD/3D printing, IoT, small-batch production, classroom pilots or technical product launches.
