Position Name : AGM - Mine Planning

Location : Kolkata

Qualification : B.E / B. Tech (Mining)

Experience : 10+ Years

Purpose of the role :

The AGM Mines Planning will own the technical planning of the Group's coal mines and make sure production targets are met safely, within statutory norms and at the lowest possible cost per tonne.

Key Responsibilities

Long- and short-term planning

- Prepare and update the life of mine plan, 5-year plan, annual plan and monthly production schedules.
- Review plan versus actual every month and take corrective action with the operations team.

Mine design and scheduling

- Design pits, benches, dumps, haul roads and ramps, and plan overburden removal and stripping ratio.
- Plan coal extraction sequence, coal quality and blending to meet the customer or plant requirement.
- Update geological model and reserve estimates with the geology and survey teams.

Statutory and approvals

- Prepare and update the Mining Plan, Scheme of Mining and Mine Closure Plan,



and support approvals from the Ministry of Coal and other authorities.
- Support Environmental Clearance, Consent to Operate and DGMS compliance from the planning side.

Equipment, cost and budget

- Plan HEMM fleet requirement, productivity and equipment deployment, including contractor or MDO equipment.
- Prepare the mining budget and track cost per tonne, with ideas to bring it down.

Coordination and team

- Work with Geology, Survey, Operations, Safety, Environment and Finance for one aligned plan.
- Guide and develop the mine planning engineers and geologists in the team.
- Give regular plans, MIS and review reports to the Sr. VP – Mines and senior management.

Qualification

- B.E. / B.Tech in Mining Engineering (essential).
- M.Tech in Mining or MBA (preferred).
- First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency (preferred).

Experience

- 10 to 16 years in coal mining, with a solid base in core mines planning.
- Hands-on work in long-term and short-term planning, mine design and scheduling.
- Exposure to Mining Plan, Scheme of Mining and Mine Closure Plan approvals.
- Experience of leading a planning team in a large coal mine or a coal mining company.
