About the Role

We are looking for an AGM - Design to lead the design team and oversee the conceptualisation, development, and execution of commercial interior design projects.

The role will focus on delivering innovative, functional, and high-quality design solutions that align with client requirements, project budgets, timelines, and quality standards. You will work closely with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and project execution teams to ensure seamless coordination between design development and on-site implementation.

This is a leadership role that requires strong expertise in commercial interior design, conceptualisation, technical documentation, client management, and team leadership, along with the ability to manage multiple projects from initial design through execution.

What You'll Own Conceptual Design and Development

- Lead the development of design concepts, space planning, layouts, and design strategies for commercial interior projects.
- Translate client briefs and business requirements into functional, innovative, and aesthetically appealing design solutions.
- Research industry trends, materials, finishes, and sustainable design practices to develop relevant design concepts.
- Prepare and present design proposals, mood boards, sketches, and 2D/3D visualisations to communicate concepts effectively to clients.
- Ensure design solutions are practical, cost-effective, and aligned with project requirements and budgets.

Design Management and Project Coordination

- Lead and manage the design team, ensuring timely delivery of design concepts, drawings, and project documentation.
- Develop project plans covering design timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and deliverables.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, MEP consultants, contractors, and project management teams to ensure smooth design integration and execution.
- Review and approve design drawings, technical specifications, shop drawings, material samples, and mock-ups.
- Monitor multiple design projects simultaneously,



resolving design-related challenges and ensuring delivery within agreed timelines.

Client Relationship and Stakeholder Management

- Work closely with clients to understand their requirements, design preferences, operational needs, and budgetary expectations.
- Lead client meetings, design presentations, and review discussions to gather feedback and obtain approvals.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication, responsiveness, and design quality.
- Manage design changes, client expectations, and project-related escalations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure clear communication between clients, designers, consultants, and execution teams.

Technical Documentation and Execution Coordination

- Oversee the preparation of detailed construction drawings, specifications, material schedules, and design documentation.
- Ensure design documentation is accurate, comprehensive, and aligned with applicable building codes, industry standards, and project requirements.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to verify that execution aligns with approved designs and specifications.
- Coordinate with procurement and execution teams on material selection, finishes, technical feasibility, and cost optimisation.
- Review site feedback, resolve design discrepancies, and minimise rework while maintaining design intent and quality standards.

Quality Assurance and Team Leadership

- Establish design review processes and quality control standards to maintain consistency and accuracy across project deliverables.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the design team, fostering creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor team performance, project deliverables, and resource utilisation to ensure effective design operations.




- Identify opportunities to improve design processes, documentation standards, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Promote innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective design practices while maintaining high standards of design excellence.

What We're Looking For Must Have

- 7-10 years of experience in commercial interior design, preferably within commercial interior fit-out or Design & Build companies.
- A bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- Strong expertise in conceptual design, space planning, layout development, and technical detailing for commercial interiors.
- Experience handling commercial projects such as corporate offices, workspaces, co-working environments, and other commercial establishments.
- Proven experience leading design teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Robust understanding of construction drawings, material specifications, finishes, building codes, and design standards.
- Experience coordinating with clients, architects, MEP consultants, contractors, and project execution teams.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and relevant design presentation tools.
- Strong communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to take ownership of projects from conceptualisation through execution while balancing design quality, timelines, and budgets.

Good to Have

- Experience handling large-scale corporate office interiors and commercial fit-out projects for enterprise clients or global MNCs.
- Proficiency in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and advanced 3D visualisation tools.
- Experience in turnkey commercial interior projects and Design & Build delivery models.
- Knowledge of sustainable design practices and LEED certification.
- Experience in cost optimisation, value engineering, vendor coordination, and material procurement.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating diverse commercial interior projects and end-to-end design ownership.
- Experience establishing design processes, mentoring teams, and improving design delivery standards.
