The role
You’ll own the backend of our products. You’ll design APIs, model messy real-world business data, and keep systems reliable as we add customers. You’ll work directly with the person leading the company, with no layers in between.
What you’ll do
- Build and maintain backend services and REST APIs in Django and Django REST Framework
- Design database schemas for billing, inventory, orders and reporting
- Integrate third-party services such as WhatsApp Business API, payment gateways and accounting tools
- Write clean, tested, documented code and review others’ code
- Deploy and monitor applications, and fix production issues
- Turn a business owner’s real problem into a working feature
What we’re looking for
- 3-6 years of professional experience with Python and Django
- Strong with Django ORM,
PostgreSQL and query optimisation
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs (DRF)
- Comfortable with Git, Linux, Docker and deploying to a cloud server
- Familiar with background tasks (Celery or similar) and caching (Redis)
- Able to work independently and explain technical choices in plain English
Good to have
- Multi-tenant SaaS experience
- Experience with GST, invoicing or accounting integrations
- Basic React or front-end understanding
- Experience with automated testing and CI/CD
