Job Description – Railway Purchase Executive / Assistant Manager

- B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE)

Experience: 3–10 Years (Relevant experience in Railway Electrical Purchase / Procurement)

Job Responsibilities

- Handle end-to-end procurement and purchasing activities related to Railway Electrical projects.
- Identify, evaluate and coordinate with vendors, suppliers and manufacturers for electrical materials and equipment.
- Procure railway electrical materials such as cables, transformers, switchgear, panels, circuit breakers, insulators, connectors and other electrical components.
- Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs), RFQs, quotations and comparative statements.
- Analyse vendor quotations, negotiate prices, payment terms and delivery schedules.
- Coordinate with project, engineering, stores and site teams to understand material requirements.
- Ensure materials are procured as per technical specifications, approved drawings and project requirements.
- Follow up with vendors for timely material delivery and resolve supply-related issues.
- Maintain purchase records,



vendor databases, material tracking and procurement documentation.
- Ensure cost-effective procurement while maintaining quality standards and project timelines.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of Railway Electrical materials and equipment.
- Experience in Railway Electrical projects and procurement activities.
- Knowledge of vendor development, sourcing and price negotiation.
- Understanding of technical specifications, BOQ, BOM and material requirements.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel, ERP and purchase documentation.
- Strong communication, coordination and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple procurement requirements and meet project deadlines.

Preferred Experience

- Candidates with experience in Railway Electrical projects, Railway Electrification (RE), OHE, Traction Distribution, Signalling-related electrical materials and railway infrastructure procurement will be preferred.
- Experience dealing with railway-approved vendors and manufacturers will be an added advantage.

Suitable Candidates: Electrical Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. Electrical or EEE graduates with relevant Railway Electrical procurement experience.
