Job Responsibilities
- Design and develop plastic injection molds as per customer requirements.
- Prepare 3D mold designs and 2D manufacturing drawings.
- Understand product drawings, 3D models, and technical specifications.
- Perform Design for Manufacturability (DFM) analysis.
- Design mold components, core, cavity, sliders, lifters, cooling systems, and ejection systems.
- Select appropriate mold materials and standard components.
- Ensure proper mold functionality, dimensional accuracy, and ease of manufacturing.
- Coordinate with the tool room and manufacturing team during mold development.
- Make design modifications based on customer feedback and mold trial results.
- Prepare BOMs and detailed technical documentation.
- Coordinate with customers and internal teams to resolve design-related issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or Tool & Die Making.
- Experience in plastic injection mold design.
- Good knowledge of injection molding processes and mold construction.
- Proficiency in CAD software.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of DFM, GD&T;, and mold components.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
Experience
- Preferred: 2–5 years of experience in plastic injection mold design.
- Freshers with relevant technical knowledge may also apply.
