Job Summary

Devanika Hospital is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and vigilant Staff Nurse for our specialized Burn Unit. The ideal candidate will provide advanced critical care, specialized wound management, infection control, and continuous monitoring for patients suffering from thermal, chemical, electrical, or radiation burn injuries.

Key Responsibilities1. Specialized Burn & Patient Care

- Administer specialized fluid resuscitation according to standard burn formulas (e.g., Parkland Formula) and monitor intake/output continuously.
- Perform sterile, pain-managed wound care, surgical dressings, and debridement under doctor supervision.
- Monitor vitals, hemodynamic stability, pain levels, and neurological status continuously.

2. Infection Prevention & Environmental Control

- Maintain strict aseptic techniques and isolation protocols to prevent hospital-acquired infections (HAIs)



and sepsis in highly vulnerable burn patients.
- Manage, sterilize, and maintain specialized burn equipment, air-fluidized beds, and hydrotherapy equipment (if applicable).

3. Medication & IV Management

- Administer intravenous fluids, blood products, antibiotics, analgesics, and sedation strictly as prescribed.
- Monitor nutritional support (enteral/parenteral feeding) essential for burn healing.

4. Patient & Family Support

- Provide emotional support, comfort, and reassurance to patients suffering from acute physical trauma.
- Educate family members on infection control protocols, unit rules, and long-term rehabilitation steps.

Qualifications & Skill Requirements

- Education: B.Sc in Nursing or General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM).
- Registration: Valid Nursing Council Registration (State/National).
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of clinical experience, preferably in a Burn ICU, Surgical ICU, Emergency Room, or Trauma Unit.
