2. Job Purpose

To ensure maximum availability, reliability and performance of VMC, CNC and associated production machinery through effective preventive and predictive maintenance, breakdown analysis, spare-parts management, and continuous improvement activities while maintaining safety and quality standards.

3. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Machine Maintenance and Breakdown Management

- Ensure smooth functioning of VMC, CNC machining centres and related production equipment.
- Attend and resolve machine breakdowns with minimum production downtime.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and servo-drive-related problems.
- Coordinate with machine manufacturers and external service providers for major repairs.
- Monitor machine condition, spindle performance, axis movement, lubrication systems and coolant systems.
- Maintain breakdown records and implement corrective and preventive actions.

B. Preventive and Predictive Maintenance

- Prepare and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all VMC/CNC machines.
- Ensure daily, weekly, monthly and annual maintenance activities are completed on time.
- Monitor spindle vibration, temperature, lubrication, coolant concentration and machine accuracy.
- Implement condition-based maintenance to reduce unexpected breakdowns.
- Maintain maintenance checklists, equipment history cards and machine-wise maintenance records.
- Ensure timely calibration and alignment checks wherever applicable.

C. Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance

- Troubleshoot CNC controllers, servo motors, drives, PLCs, sensors and electrical panels.
- Maintain hydraulic power packs, pneumatic systems, pumps, motors and gearboxes.
- Ensure proper functioning of machine interlocks, limit switches, emergency stops and safety guards.
- Coordinate electrical panel inspections, earthing checks and thermography as required.




- Ensure proper functioning of chip conveyors, coolant filtration and lubrication systems.

D. Spare Parts and Inventory Management

- Identify critical spare parts and maintain minimum stock levels.
- Plan and monitor the availability of motors, bearings, sensors, belts, pumps, drives and other essential spares.
- Control maintenance costs through effective spare-parts planning and repair-versus-replacement analysis.
- Coordinate with the purchase department for timely procurement of maintenance materials.
- Maintain spare-parts consumption and inventory records.

E. Team Management and Coordination

- Allocate maintenance activities to technicians and maintenance associates.
- Supervise and guide the maintenance team during breakdowns and preventive maintenance.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Tool Room and other departments to resolve equipment issues.
- Conduct technical training for technicians on machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Monitor team performance and ensure timely completion of assigned jobs.

F. Continuous Improvement and Cost Reduction

- Conduct root cause analysis for repeated machine breakdowns using Why-Why analysis and other problem-solving tools.
- Implement Kaizen activities to reduce downtime, maintenance costs and spare consumption.
- Improve MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) and reduce MTTR (Mean Time To Repair).
- Monitor machine availability and maintenance performance indicators.
- Support TPM, 5S, OEE improvement and lean manufacturing activities.

G. Safety, Quality and Documentation

- Ensure compliance with LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures during maintenance work.
- Ensure machine guards, safety interlocks and emergency-stop systems are functional.
- Prevent unauthorised bypassing of machine sensors and safety devices.
- Maintain maintenance records, breakdown reports, PM checklists and spare-parts registers.
- Follow plant safety procedures,



environmental requirements and applicable quality-system standards.
- Ensure safe handling of oils, coolants, electrical components and maintenance tools.

5. Required Skills and Competencies

- Robust troubleshooting knowledge of VMC and CNC machines.
- Knowledge of CNC controls such as Fanuc, Siemens or Mitsubishi.
- Understanding of servo drives, PLCs, electrical circuits and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance and TPM.
- Experience in root cause analysis, Why-Why analysis and Kaizen.
- Team handling, planning, communication and coordination skills.
- Working knowledge of MS Excel, maintenance MIS and ERP systems.

6. Preferred Experience

- Experience in automotive component manufacturing or precision machining.
- Experience maintaining VMC/CNC machines used for aluminium die-cast component machining.
- Knowledge of spindle, ball screw, linear guideway, tool changer and coolant system maintenance.
- Experience in breakdown reduction, machine uptime improvement and maintenance cost control.

7. Authority and Accountability

- Responsible for machine maintenance planning and execution.
- Accountable for machine reliability, breakdown reduction and preventive maintenance compliance.
- Responsible for maintenance team performance and safety compliance.
- Coordinate with Production and Quality to minimise production losses caused by equipment failures.
- Recommend critical spare purchases, equipment improvements and maintenance-related investments.

Pay: Up to ₹60,000.00 per month
