Job Description

The Roy Fine Dine Group of Restaurants is looking for an experienced Commi I / CDP Chef with strong expertise in South Indian cuisine.

The candidate must have excellent knowledge of traditional South Indian recipes, cooking techniques, food preparation, taste consistency, and presentation. Knowledge of additional cuisines such as Chinese, Continental, North Indian, Tandoor, or Pan-Asian will be an added advantage.

The selected candidate should be capable of independently managing an assigned kitchen section and maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities

Kitchen Operations

- Prepare a wide variety of authentic South Indian dishes using standardized recipes.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of South Indian breakfast, lunch, dinner, gravies, curries, rice varieties, and traditional accompaniments.
- Maintain consistency in food taste, quality, portion size, and presentation.
- Manage daily mise en place and ensure timely preparation during service.
- Coordinate with the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, and other kitchen team members.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the assigned kitchen section.

Additional Cuisine Knowledge

- Knowledge of Chinese, Continental, North Indian, Tandoor, or Pan-Asian cuisine will be an added advantage.




- Ability to independently handle multiple kitchen sections will be preferred.
- Support other kitchen sections based on operational requirements.

Quality, Hygiene & Cost Control

- Follow food safety, hygiene, storage, and FIFO procedures.
- Monitor the freshness and quality of raw materials.
- Maintain proper portion control and minimize food wastage.
- Monitor ingredient availability and report stock requirements.
- Follow food storage and temperature-control procedures.
- Maintain personal hygiene and kitchen sanitation standards.

Team Coordination

- Guide junior kitchen staff when required.
- Coordinate with kitchen team members to ensure timely order preparation.
- Follow restaurant SOPs and instructions from the Executive Chef / Sous Chef.
- Work efficiently during busy service hours.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of South Indian cuisine is mandatory.
- Excellent cooking skills and knowledge of traditional South Indian recipes.
- Ability to maintain consistent taste and food quality.
- Knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and hygiene.
- Knowledge of mise en place, portion control, and wastage management.
- Good teamwork, discipline, and time-management skills.




- Additional cuisine expertise will be an advantage.

Qualification & Experience

- Diploma / Degree in Hotel Management or Culinary Arts preferred.
- Previous experience as Commi I, CDP, or in an equivalent professional kitchen position preferred.
- Experience in restaurants, hotels, fine dining, or multi-cuisine establishments will be an advantage.

Salary & Selection Process

Salary Range: ₹30,000 – ₹40,000 per month

The final salary and designation will be determined based on:

- Relevant qualified experience.
- South Indian cuisine knowledge.
- Practical cooking skills and food quality.
- Food Trial / Practical Cooking Test.
- Personal Interview performance.

- Trichy-based candidates preferred.
- Candidates from Tamil Nadu willing to work in Trichy may apply.
- Immediate joiners preferred.
- Candidates with strong South Indian cuisine expertise and additional cuisine knowledge will receive preference.
