Role Summary Incubyte is hiring a Senior NPI Engineer to be on-site at a client's JDM partner facility in Gurugram. This person owns hands-on build and validation execution at the JDM, working in close coordination with the client's HQ-based Technical Program Manager (TPM), who owns the overall program schedule and cross-functional plan. This is a hands-on, on-site role, not a remote-coordination job.
Key Responsibilities
NPI / Build Execution
• Serve as the on-the-ground engineering owner at the JDM, present for build events (EVT/DVT/PVT/MP) and day-to-day line activity.
• Drive build planning with the JDM: line setup, work instructions, fixture/tooling readiness and build schedules, in line with the program plan set by HQ Engineering.
• Own test and validation execution at the JDM — functional test, reliability/environmental test, safety/compliance test — ensuring test plans are followed and results are properly documented.
• Triage failures and defects in real time on the line; drive root cause analysis and corrective action with JDM engineering, escalating to HQ hardware/firmware/quality teams and the TPM as needed.
• Maintain and enforce the ECO/deviation process with the JDM — no unauthorized changes to BOM, process or test procedures.
• Be the point of accountability for whether a build is "go" or "no-go" against exit criteria agreed with the HQ team. Program Support (Feeding into HQ TPM)
• Execute against the master build/validation schedule owned by the HQ TPM — flag local dependencies, delays or blockers as they arise.
• Surface schedule, quality and supply risks observed on-site promptly to the HQ TPM for the program risk register.
• Coordinate component/material readiness on-site with the JDM and local supply chain contacts, reporting line-down risk to the HQ TPM.
• Participate in the program's status cadence (daily stand-ups during builds, weekly program reviews) with accurate, timely local data: yield, open issues, schedule variance.
• Keep the shared action-item/issue tracker current for items owned locally, and drive them to closure with the JDM.
• Provide the HQ TPM with clear, data-backed local status updates so program-level reporting and decisions can happen at HQ. Requirements Requirements
• 5–8+ years in NPI, technical program management, manufacturing engineering or test engineering for electronic hardware products (cameras, sensors, IoT devices or similar preferred).
• Direct experience running or supporting builds at a contract manufacturer or JDM/ODM, ideally in India or greater Asia.
• Working knowledge of DFM/DFT, test fixture design/bring-up, statistical process control, and planning tools like Microsoft Project or Smartsheet.
• Comfortable reading schematics, BOMs and mechanical drawings; able to communicate technical issues clearly across engineering, quality and ops.
• Experience with ECO processes, deviation/waiver tracking and formal build exit criteria.
• Solid bias for being physically present on the line, with the discipline to track and report status accurately to a remote program owner.
• Able to work Gurugram-based hours with overlap into US
working hours
for HQ TPM syncs and escalations, including calls with the US team until 10–11 PM IST.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience).
•
Location:
Based in Gurugram (or in close proximity), India, at the JDM partner facility.
