About Bruno Bruno is a fast-growing software product company building an open-source API client used by developers around the world. We're a small, ambitious team, and as we grow, we want to build a workplace where people can do their best work, supported by the right processes and culture. Background We're looking for an experienced HR Manager to take ownership of HR at Bruno as we grow beyond our current team of more than 50 people in India. Ideally, you've been part of a startup's growth journey and know how to build HR policies and processes that scale without adding unnecessary complexity. You're comfortable handling everything from statutory compliance and employee concerns to everyday HR operations, and know how to prioritize, take ownership, and get things done independently. Requirements

What you'll do
• Build, improve, and implement HR policies, processes, and frameworks as the company grows.
• Ensure we're on top of Indian and Karnataka labour laws, statutory compliance, and employee documentation.
• Be the go-to person for employees, helping resolve concerns, workplace issues, and grievances fairly and thoughtfully.
• Own the employee journey from hiring and onboarding to probation, performance reviews, promotions, and exits.
• Manage everyday HR operations, including employee records, HRIS, leave, attendance, payroll inputs, insurance, and benefits.




• Work with managers to build clear and consistent processes for performance reviews, appraisals, and compensation changes.
• Coordinate hiring, offers, background verification, and onboarding.
• Spot gaps in how we work, find better ways of doing things, and make sure processes are actually followed. About you
• 5–9 years of HR experience in an IT or software product company.
• You've worked in a growing startup and experienced how people, policies, and processes need to evolve as the team gets bigger.
• You have a solid understanding of Indian labour laws, statutory compliance, and Karnataka-specific requirements.
• You've built and implemented HR policies and processes yourself.
• You're comfortable handling employee concerns, difficult conversations, and people-related decisions.
• You know how to prioritize, balance multiple responsibilities, and keep things moving without needing constant direction. Benefits Why Bruno?
