- and US-based company with a large development center in Bengaluru, is developing a gigascale AI data center campus near Bengaluru. The campus is planned to scale in phases: 100 MW → 300 MW → 500 MW → 700 MW → 1,000 MW. Following discussions regarding the project’s power connectivity requirements, we are moving into detailed technical planning and execution for grid connectivity. We are looking for an experienced consultant or specialist consulting firm to act as our technical representative and owner’s advisor, translating the project’s power requirements into an agreed, executable grid connection plan. Scope of work
• Lead technical coordination on phased grid connectivity, capacity availability, connection points, approvals and implementation timelines with state transmission utilities.
• Develop and review the proposed 400 kV substation and downstream power infrastructure, including transformers, bays, busbars, circuit breakers, protection and control systems.
• Assess dual supply corridors, independent feeds, N-1 planning and redundancy, including common points of failure.
• Coordinate load-flow, short-circuit and other required grid studies with relevant specialists and utilities.
• Plan infrastructure sizing and expansion to support the initial 100 MW and subsequent growth to 1 GW.
• Support equipment specifications,
vendor/EPC evaluation and procurement planning, particularly for long-lead transformers and switchgear.
• Establish transparent responsibility boundaries between the utility and our project team, with an action tracker covering dependencies, decisions and delivery milestones. Preferred background
• Substantial hands-on experience in EHV transmission, particularly 400 kV substations and large-load grid connections.
• Proven experience working with KPTCL or comparable state transmission utilities.
• Strong understanding of both system planning and on-ground engineering, procurement and execution.
• Ability to engage directly with utility engineers, resolve technical issues and drive timely closure.
• Experience with large data centers or major industrial power projects is desirable.
• Kannada-speaking preferred, with availability for meetings in Bengaluru and site visits. Immediate priorityReview the project requirements and available site information, participate in initial working-level discussions, and prepare a phased connectivity roadmap with key technical decisions, responsibilities and timelines. Contact / How to respondInterested consultants or firms should share their profile, relevant project credentials, experience with KPTCL or state transmission utilities, availability and proposed engagement terms. Referrals to suitable senior professionals are welcome.
