Mumbai Roles and Responsibilities
• Strong understanding and intelligence of prevailing freight market scenarios, rate trends, capacity conditions, carrier strategies, and competitive pricing across major trade lanes.
• Must have strong practical knowledge of Ocean and Air Import freight pricing, including freight rates, surcharges, local charges, routing, transit times, and applicable commercial terms.
• Must be an excellent negotiator with proven ability to negotiate competitive and profitable rates with:
• Shipping Lines
• Airlines / Airline Carriers
• NVOCCs and Consolidators
• Co-loaders
• Local Transporters and Vendors
• Other relevant logistics service providers
• Must have the ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships and rapport with shipping companies, airlines, consolidators, overseas agents, and local vendors.




• Robust ability to source competitive rates while ensuring the company's required profitability and service standards.
• Should be well connected within the freight forwarding industry and have a good understanding of prevailing market rates.
• Ability to provide quick, accurate, and commercially viable pricing solutions to the Sales and Business Development teams.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to compare rates, evaluate routing options, analyze margins, and identify the most commercially suitable solution.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, coordination, and negotiation skills. Desired Candidate Profile
• 5-10 years of experience in export pricing management or a related field (e.g., import/export import).
• Strong understanding of Import regulations, tariffs, taxes, and trade agreements.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel) for data analysis and reporting purposes.
• Experience working with freight forwarders or third-party logistics providers is an asset.
