Key Responsibilities
• Administer and support production databases across PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SQL Server environments.
• Perform database troubleshooting, incident resolution, root-cause analysis, and production support.
• Monitor database health, availability, capacity, and performance.
• Perform query optimization, indexing, execution-plan analysis, and database performance tuning.
• Design and support High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) solutions.
• Manage backup, restore, recovery, replication, and DR testing.
• Implement database security, user/access management, permissions, roles, authentication, and auditing.
• Support cloud database migration and modernization, including on-premises to Azure migrations.
• Work with Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, and Azure Database for MySQL.
• Automate repetitive database administration and monitoring activities using PowerShell, Python, Bash, SQL scripting, or Azure Automation.




• Configure and manage monitoring and alerting using tools such as Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
• Perform database capacity planning and proactive performance management.
• Drive cloud cost optimization by reviewing database sizing, compute/storage utilization, scaling, backup retention, idle resources, and workload patterns.
• Participate in production support, incident management, change management, patching, upgrades, and operational readiness activities. Mandatory Skills
