- not graphic designer, brand marketer, social media manager, or generalist “digital marketer”. E-commerce / DTC experience, ideally Shopify brands selling physical products (supplements, beauty, gadgets, home). Agency-side serving DTC clients counts. B2B, SaaS, real estate, local services do not. Paid social ad creative is the core of the work: Meta/TikTok ad scripts, UGC scripts, VSLs (short and long), static ad copy, advertorials, landing pages, email campaigns. At least three of those shown. Results tied to spend or revenue. Portfolio must show numbers like ROAS, CPA, revenue from an ad, spend an ad scaled to, or Ads Manager / Shopify screenshots. Likes, views and “engagement” on their own are a reject. Actual ad samples viewable
- videos or images of the ads that ran, not just descriptions. Writes briefs for editors/designers (hooks, angles, scene-by-scene instructions). Portfolio should mention briefs, angles, hooks or concepts.



3+ years in performance/DTC. Fresh grads and “content creators” are out. Nice to have (ranks higher) Experience with AI creative tools (AI UGC, AI animation, Suno/ElevenLabs style audio) in ad production. CRO / landing page work alongside the ads. Email/Klaviyo campaign experience with revenue attached. Has worked across multiple brands at once (agency or in-house portfolio of 4+ brands). Named direct-response training (Stefan Georgi, Peter Kell, Alen Sultanic type names) or similar copy chief background. Testimonials from founders/CMOs/media buyers, screenshots from Slack or LinkedIn are fine. Instant rejects Dribbble/Behance style visual portfolios with no copy or performance data. Brand identity, logo, packaging, print or web design portfolios. Video editors or motion designers (we’re hiring the strategist, not the editor). Organic social / community management portfolios. Portfolios that only list “skills” and tools with no live work and no numbers. Anyone whose only ad experience is Google Search or SEO.
