About Contlo Contlo, part of QuestionPro, is autonomous marketing for e-commerce and B2C brands. A brand's own AI model and agents plan, write and run campaigns, customer journeys and conversations across WhatsApp, SMS, email and push, and are measured on revenue growth and retention rather than on software shipped. We sell to D2C and B2C businesses on Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento and custom stacks: fashion, beauty, food, electronics, edtech, clinics and similar. WhatsApp is the lead channel in our core markets (India, the Gulf, LatAm and Europe), with COD order confirmation, RTO reduction and abandoned-cart recovery as the most common first use cases. Plans start at $49/month, so the buyer is usually a founder, marketing head or growth lead, not a procurement team. The role You are the first outbound hire. Your job is to build pipeline from scratch through cold calls, cold email and LinkedIn, and to book qualified demos for the founder-led sales team. There is no inbound queue to lean on yet; the lists, sequences and talk tracks you build in the first quarter become the outbound playbook for the SDRs who follow you. You report to the founder (head of go-to-market) and work daily with marketing on messaging and target accounts. The role is a path to Account Executive within 12 to 18 months for someone who hits quota and learns the product.
What you'll do
• Build target account lists of D2C and B2C brands (Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento and custom stores) using Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Shopify app data and store-tech lookups, and keep them clean in the CRM.
• Make 50+ cold calls a day to founders, marketing heads and growth leads, open with a relevant hook (COD confirmation, RTO, abandoned carts, WhatsApp costs) and book a demo.
• Write and run multi-step cold email and LinkedIn sequences; test subject lines, hooks and send times, and keep what works.
• Qualify every booked meeting on store volume, channels in use, current tools (Klaviyo, Wati, Interakt, BiteSpeed, WebEngage) and timeline, and hand over clean notes to the AE.
• Work inbound and event leads within the hour: demo requests, pricing-page visitors, webinar and trade-show contacts.
• Log every touch in the CRM, keep pipeline stages accurate and report weekly on activity, meetings booked and meetings held.
• Feed what you hear on calls (objections, competitor names, pricing pushback, feature asks) back to marketing and product every week.
• Learn the product well enough to run a 10-minute first-look demo yourself when the AE is unavailable. What we're looking for
• 1 to 3 years in an SDR, BDR or inside-sales role selling SaaS, ideally to e-commerce, D2C or SMB buyers. Solid freshers with a sales internship and a proven cold-calling record are welcome.
• Comfortable on the phone. You can take 30 rejections before lunch and still make the 31st call sound like the first.
• Writes short, specific emails in plain English that a busy founder will actually read.
• Knows how to research an account in five minutes: store platform, traffic, channels, current tools, recent launches.
• Disciplined with the CRM; every touch logged, every stage current, without being asked.
• Coachable and curious. You ask why a pitch landed or didn't, and change the next call because of it.
• Fluent English, spoken and written; Hindi or another Indian language is a plus for the India market. Nice to have
• Sold or used marketing-automation or messaging tools: Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Wati, Interakt, AiSensy, BiteSpeed, WebEngage, MoEngage or CleverTap.
• Worked at or sold to a D2C brand or a Shopify agency and understands COD, RTO, repeat purchase and WhatsApp conversation pricing.
• Experience with Apollo, Lusha, Sales Navigator, HubSpot or Zoho CRM and a dialer such as Aircall or Kixie.
